It's been quite a while since our last announcement... we suffered from a terrible drought of activity, and the RoKK project was brought to a standstill. However, last week, Bronkor and MidgetNinja made a return to the Council. In an effort to advance the project, as opposed to letting it rot, the Council analyzed where we are and took motion to develop RoKK into the project it was meant to be.
Realms of Kar'Kaish was never meant for 1 on 1 roleplays, or dm/gm-led parties through the world. We were to create the world itself, and offer it to the members and players of RoKK to interact with it as best as they could. There were no defining limitations.. players could go on adventures as they saw fit to do, they could study and build up their skills, organize coups, take command of entire legions, or ascend as the ruler of a great country.
Characters could be as menial as farmers and as involved as Guild leaders. Truly, we would grant the public the world, and from it, forge a grand online roleplaying community.
Such an ambitious task will have to be even more ambitious in it's design. How are we to grant players the entire world? How are we to regulate it? How will it appear?
A current design is in production for a demo of the final 'version' of RoKK. Players will see the political world map of Ara'niel. From there, they will select a country or region, and be brought to a closer, more detailed map of that area. They may then select an area of importance, maybe a town, temple, or even a forest. In this way they will access the actual roleplaying section... forums and subforums, dedicated to the numerous aspects of the area they select.
This will open the entire world, and it will function as a grand stage for roleplayers to interect in.
Right now the Council is mainly focused on getting the demo developed, fleshing out the system, and seeing how it can be improved. However, we are also focused on what we need to accomplish right now.
RoKK is in need of more members, more activity, more lore. While this is primarily the duties of the Council, until we are more established, I ask that the community takes motion to support the development of RoKK. Anyone and everyone may submit kingdoms, people, systems, lore in general...
We will see this project through, even if we must suffer a continuous dry spell. RoKK started out as a dream, a concept to make more than just the "Gamerisle Arena". This conception has changed, turned into a brilliant vision.
We look forward to a rebirth of this project, with the arrivals of Bronkor and MidgetNinja back into our forums. However, a rebirth takes effort, and effort must be made to progress this project. We can only continue so long as people make an effort to continue. RoKK lives because people will it to be so with their work and dedication. Allow yourself to pioneer great things in this developmental stage. We can accomplish something with your help.
Help us, help yourselves, help RoKK. We shall become a community unlike any other.
