Name: Johan Jorgenson
Class: Black Guard
Title: The Half-Dead
Race: Half-Dead (Originally Human)
Appearance: Johan Jorgenson, is a man with two quite literally different sides of himself. The right half of his body, is all living flesh. His left half on the hand is entirely without life, his left half does not decay, but it also is cold, without life. His hair is drawn in long raven tresses on one side of his body, as the other half of his form the flowing locks of his hair are a dark gray representing the total lack of life on that half of his body. His body still maintains the strong musculature on both sides of it that prevailed him in normalcy, still being just as strong as it once was, his flesh on both sides was indeed quite pale as villagers drove him out of their villagers in fear, thinking he was one of the vast numbers of undead. He was a rather large, and imposing man, and his stature could be said to be that of a giant. His body was always adorned in a suit of obsidian plate mail, which hid most of his body from view, except for his head. His eyes were a piercing dark gray, that seemed to suit the seeming lifelessness that had come to be his existence, he had a rather stern forehead, full lips, a narrow bridged nose with a bulbous end, that was noticeable amongst his very features, a crescent shaped scar on his right cheek from a wound suffered in battle was also quite evident, and lastly he had a rather large and protruding jaw that seemed to fit his massive form.
Fighting Style: The fighting style of Johan, was typical to that of most Black Guard, having once been a paladin, and having been forced out of the order because of his affliction. Using a rather large Zweihander, Johan rarely likes to advance towards his enemies, using the enormous reach of his blade, to strike at them as they come towards him, his armor, and short bursts of agility proving most cases to be enough to avoid, or absorb most ranged blows. When on the offense Johan would be quite unable to guard himself from the back, as moving forward took a great deal more effort then one in a lighter suit of armor, and with a lighter blade could do so, relying on the momentum of his blades strikes when on the offensive, he would seek to cause as much damage as possible, with the fewest amount of strikes.
Abilities/Skills:
Holy Magic: Although he was forsaken by his order, and tainted by the very grip of death itself, Johan was still able to call upon the forces of life to strike down the undead, or in most cases heal wounds, upon himself or others. His vows to his patron deity, Y`ar still stand strong, for without them he would have no ability to command this power.
Novice Blacksmith: His father's profession was that of a Blacksmith, and as such Johan knows how to repair armor, or a sword to a degree, but any great repair is beyond his meager skills in this regard.
Feels No Pain: Anything, that would cause Johan to react to pain has no effect upon him, the spell which left half of his body dead, has left the other half of his form numb, he feels nothing.
Death Magic: The Unholy spell which destroyed half of his form, and in the end saved him from succumbing to death, has left Johan with a innate talent for Death Magic. However his ability to control it is as of yet beyond his understanding, and it has only reacted in the past when he was in great mortal danger.
Items/Artifacts:
Dioceles: Dioceles is the name of Johan's Zweihander, in itself it has no magical properties, but when it is channeled, by no will power of his own to contain the energies of death magic itself, it takes on an entirely different role then most swords. Every cleave it makes is poisoned with the very taint of death itself, causing fear to enter into those who are weak, and a more rapid degradation, and decay of the inflicted wound.
History: The history of Johan Jorgenson begins on a small fishing island , in the village of Kupervic. His mother passed away in child birth, leaving only his father Erik Jorgenson the village blacksmith to raise him. His youth was a harsh one, as the climate, and conditions were far from forgiving. He helped his father with the fishing for sustenance, and when he became a teenager, his father sought to teach him the blacksmiths trade, but Johan had dreams of being more then just the village blacksmith, but he respected his father's wishes.
One day, under the glaring blaze of the sun, there came unto the village, a group of bandits known as the Twisted Axes. They took torches to every building of the small village, including Erik Jorgenson's blacksmith shop, which they were keen to attempt to raid for it's armaments, and armor. Johan, had just returned from fishing as these events were transpiring in his village, and the scene he came back to was one of utter death, and destruction. His first impulse was to go to the blacksmith shop to see if his father was alright. Upon reaching the blacksmith's shop to Johan's disgust, he came to see that not only was his father dead, he was chopped into various pieces, and nailed to the wall, obviously making an example of the blacksmith. This singular event would be enough to drive Johan into the rage that drove him on to enter into the Order of Y`ar in the near future.
After the destruction of his village, Johan traveled the world until finding a small monastery that was devoted to the God Y`ar, so impressed by the devotion of the priests of Y`ar, and their doctrine was Johan, that he pledged his life to the service of Y`ar, and all that serving him stood for. Years passed within his order, as he was trained in the arts of combat by the priests, as well as taught the use of the magic of his new patron deity, learning was not easy for one who had begun to learn so late in his age, but through grim determination, and will power he was able to overcome his difficulties in the realm of learning.
