Name: Hephaestus
Alias: Hephaestus
Background: From humble beginnings, Hephaestus was born in a small village just east of Fort Darkleaf. Knights from Darkleaf almost constantly rode through the town, and the young Hephaestus was mezmerized by their stories of adventure and danger, and became obsessed with becoming an adventurer himself. Hephaestus grew out of this however, and by the age of 20 he had surpassed his father, a master blacksmith, in the art of smithing. He traveled around, learning from many teachers (he is said to have once been a member of the order of the forge) Hephaestus became a master warrior. Though he is regarded as one of the best of human smiths, he has recently remembered his hoped of becoming an adventurer, and for the past few years has explored the land of Sereg. Hoping to test his newfound skills, Hephastus has entered the Battle Arena.
Skills: Though a smith by trade, Hephaestus has recently become a mighty warrior. 7'1'', Hephaestus dominates the battlefield. He is very tall and strong, however he is not the most agile on the battlefield. To compensate with this, he only uses the finest armor.
Weapons and Armor: Being a smith of some renoun, Hephaestus makes his own weapons and armor. His Six and a Half foot bastard sword, Firebrand, is Heph's weapon of choise. Pure black in color and inscribed with magical runes on the side, it is said to be forged of dragonflame and shadow, though whether this is true or not, hephaestus has never said. Typhon is a huge warhammer, only useable by a man of Hephaestus size in strength (The head is huge, it has a handle short enough to be used one handed). Though mainly used as his smithing hammer, Typhon is still a force to be reaconed with. Heph, though a blacksmith, realizes the need for a few "tricks up one's sleeve," and so carries with him a set of enchanted knives hidden throughout his person (In a sleeve on his wrist, in his boot, etc.)
Hephaestus wears full plate armor inscribed with runes that make it stronger and lighter than it would be otherwise. The helmet is said to be enchanted to allow Heph to see even in complete darkness. Being an offensive warrior, and relying on the quality of his armor, Hephaestus laughs at the notion of a shield.
Magic: Hephaestus needs a massive ammount of heat to forge his greatest work, and so he learned basic fire magic many years ago. Having recently learned some more advanced magic for the arena, his favorite spells include
Fire Weapon: Hephaestus is famous for using magic to coat his weapons in fire
Fireball: Throwing a ball of almost liquid fire at his enemy, Heph is known to hide enchanted knives in these
Firebrand: Firebrand is not named so for nothing. On one of his first adventures, Hephaestus met a drake, and was nearly killed. He returned with Firebrand, and it absorbed the dragon's flame.
Other than these, Heph knows some spells to manipulate fire around him and several other EXTREMELY BASIC forms of pyromancy
