Backstory:Born and raised in Copeesh Village he became a hunter, stalking game in the long grass. His parents still lie as farmers near the borders of Copeesh Village

Nortile kneels in the long grass of the plains. He sweats under the heat of the blazing sun and the warm breeze. He stares at the group of gazelle at the pond. They are unaware of his presence as they drink and wash themselves. One of them lies in the shade of a nearby tree, apparently asleep. He had been tracking this herd for hours now, and finally found them. Just one of them might offer a weeks worth of food.

Nortile checks the wind, and his location relative to the target antelope. If he is close enough to shoot the antelope with a reasonable chance of hitting him, he quickly stands and fires.

If not he checks the wind, to see if he is up-wind of the antelopes. If he is, he stalks close, otherwise he begins making a wide circle about the antelopes.

Nortile releases an arrow into the hind leg of the largest antelope. It falls over and has considerable trouble trying to stand up again. The rest of the herd wastes no time in running.

Nortile fires at the downed antelope again.

This time the arrow lodges in the antelopes stomach. IT was been mortally wounded.

Nortile walks up to the antelope and cuts the throat, letting it bleed out.

As he lets the antelope die, he notices something shiny in the muddy edge of the pond.

Nortile picks up the shiny thing, pockets it, and proceeds with determining about whether to butcher the corpse, or see if he could carry the whole thing back to the village.

He could indeed cut it up and take the meat back, but not without sacrificing the animals coat. Lifting it is just out of the question.

Nortile skins the animal first, then butchers the skinless corpse, then uses the hide as a seck to carry more meat back.

But first he examines the shiny object.

The shiny object is a mysterious silver vial.
Nortile tries to skin it, but having no experience as a tanner, only manages to mangle it.

Nortile chugs the contents of the vial, before proceeding to buthcer the antelope as best he can, and wraps what meat he can in the tatters of the hide, for stop it from dripping if nothing else.

Upon drinking the vial, time seems to stop, and the world turns grey. A voice echoes in his head like the buzzing of a cicada.
"Only one shall I grant of three; Strength, Intellect, or Agility."

Nortile looked about the plains. Agility was fine but unless it could help him run down an antelope he doubted it would help much. Strength? He didn't see any tree's except in a few sparse clumps about shallow pools of water. Short of those few there was nothing he could concieve to use new-found strength on.

He shrugged."Intelligence then."

He got back to salvaging the meat and what he could of the hide.

A new door is opened in the mind of Nortile. He can think more clearly now, and soon will be able to use magic. Drawing on the memories of what he had seen of tanning, he realizes the follies he has made, and could easily have avoided had he known this earlier. He also realizes that the trail he followed went in almost a complete circle, and that the town is less than 3 kilometers away.

Nortile shrugs, taking it pragmatically. He gathers what meat he can and wraps it in the tatters of the hide before heading back to town.

Nortile arrives at the small village of Copeesh without incident. It is around dusk, and people are beginning to either head home or to the tavern.

Nortile heads to the butchers-shop, or failing that the smoke house.

Nortile arrives at the butcher shop. The butcher greets him.
"Got more meat for me?"

Nortile grinned, and hefted the meat onto the counter.

"Will that do?"

"Indeed it will. Thats 10 golds worth, I think."
He opens up a pouch tied on his belt and gives Nortile a gold ten piece from it.

"Thanks" Nortile says, pocketing the coins.
He wanders out of the butchers shop.

Nortile is on the empty main street, save for a guard. The oil lamps cast a dim light around the street, and flare up occasionally when a moth gets too close. It's cold out now, but there is a warm humid breeze blowing down the street. The only sounds are of crickets and the kiosks' canopies fluttering in the breeze.
